The short version
Sortle has no accounts, and your puzzle progress never leaves your device by our doing. We built it that way on purpose.
What the game stores
Your streak, solved-puzzle history, settings, and the current day's board are stored locally — in your browser's storage on the web, and in app storage on iOS and Android. On phones, that data may be included in your device's own backup service (iCloud on iOS, Google's Android Backup), which is governed by Apple's or Google's privacy terms and your device settings, not by us. We cannot read those backups.
What we collect
Nothing. The website and the apps contain no analytics and no crash-reporting SDKs. The only failure data we see comes from the app stores' own built-in reporting (Google Play "Android vitals" and Apple's opt-in crash reports), which is governed by their terms and your device settings. If we ever add our own crash reporting or anonymous usage counts, the change will be dated here before it ships.
What we never do
No ads in the apps. No selling or sharing of data. No email capture. No tracking across other apps or sites.
Sharing your result
The share button composes text on your device and hands it to your system share sheet or clipboard. Nothing is sent to us.
